Bosham breezed to a winning draw against visitors Landford on a blustery day at Itchenor.

Bosham batted first and a solid opening stand between Nick Scutt and captain John Strudwick produced 79 runs. Jay Atkinson made a bright start but fell to a controversial lbw dismissal.

However, Nick Scutt and young Jack Hardman then produced a 95 run stand , before Nick Scutt was eventually bowled for a fine 120. Supported by John Barnett, teenager Jack Hardman plundered the Landford bowling to reach his first half century, finishing on 67 not out and Bosham completed their innings on 220 for only 3 wickets.

When Landford batted Jay Atkinson tied up one end with a well controlled 9 over spell, bowling into a difficult wind. He finished with creditable figures of one for fourteen. At the other end promising teenager James Cox also bowled extremely well and took 3 wickets for 25 runs in 8 overs.

In the field Len Gough and Matt Knapman took smart catches, and Matt Knapman also secured a run out with a direct throw at the stumps.

Landford batsmen fell cheaply ,but occupied the crease for long periods. Bosham could not dismiss aggressive left handed batsman Richard Wiseman who reached 74 before being bowled with the last ball of the match by captain John Strudwick. Landford finished on 153 for 6 wickets.
